Getting started
Story & replays
Follow the journey, skip conversations, and revisit discovered scenes without changing your run.
0.12.0 testing update: These updates are included in the submitted mobile builds. Store review, processing and tester availability remain unverified. See the 0.12.0 release page for status.
The journey’s story appears in character conversations and cinematic scenes. This guide explains the controls without revealing the plot.
Reading a conversation
Words appear gradually. Tap once to reveal the rest of the current line, then tap again to advance. You can also let the conversation advance automatically. The speaking character brightens while the listener stays darker.
During a battle conversation, the game is dimmed and paused behind the portraits. Combat starts after the portraits and dimming fade away. Opening and other cinematic scenes use their own backdrop.
Skipping
Skip conversation skips the current conversation. Skip release skips a hero’s release scene and continues to the normal unlock reward. Skip ending skips the full ending sequence and proceeds to the completion flow.
Skipping a story scene records it as discovered, so you can return to it later. Replaying or skipping does not grant duplicate rewards.
What plays again?
Major story scenes play once per profile, across runs and difficulties. Short combat barks can repeat. A conversation interrupted before completion or Skip remains eligible to play again.
The opening appears before your first new solo Niflheim journey. It does not interrupt a run you are resuming. Both Normal and Hard include the full ending; Hard is not required to see the story’s conclusion.
Replay from the Codex
Open Codex → Story, after the Tutorials tab, and choose a discovered scene. You can replay conversations, hero releases and the ending without changing your current journey or receiving rewards again. Undiscovered scenes remain unavailable until you encounter them in the game.
Show conversations during journeys again
In Settings → Tutorials & story, choose Reset conversations → Reset. Discovered scenes can then play again when you reach their normal story moments on this device. Each returns to once-only behavior after you finish or skip it.
This preserves your discoveries, heroes, progress and rewards. Codex replays do not consume these journey repeats. The reset is local to the device; your discovered story collection still syncs with your account.
If the ending is interrupted
Your victory rewards are kept if you close the game during the ending. On your next launch, the sequence resumes through its recovery flow without requiring another boss victory or paying the rewards twice.
Reduce Motion and Reduce Flashes in Settings soften the ending’s camera movement and bright effects. Music and sound-effect volumes are independent.
See Combat basics for battle controls and Heroes for unlock scenes.
